Getting Started

How do I add a license?

Click "Add License", enter the app name, the license key, and any details you want to keep — vendor, purchase date, price, seats, and renewal date. Your key is encrypted and saved to your local vault.

Can I import my licenses from a spreadsheet?

Yes. Choose "Import" and select a CSV file. Lycense maps your columns to fields (app name, key, purchase date, price, renewal date) and adds everything to your vault in one step.

Renewals & Spend

How do renewal reminders work?

Add a renewal date to any subscription and Lycense flags it as the date approaches, so you can decide whether to keep or cancel before you're charged.

Where do I see my total software spend?

Lycense adds up the prices of your tracked subscriptions and shows your total monthly and yearly spend, so you always know what your software actually costs.

Security & Data

Are my license keys encrypted?

Yes. Every key is stored encrypted in a local database inside the app's sandboxed container on your device. Nothing is stored in plain text and nothing is sent to the cloud.

Where is my data stored?

Entirely on your own device. Lycense has no account and no cloud sync — your vault never leaves your device unless you export a backup yourself.

Backup

How do I back up my vault?

Use "Export Backup" to save your entire vault to a file you control. To move to a new computer or restore, use "Import" and select that file.

What happens to my data if I delete the app?

Because your data lives in the app's sandboxed container, deleting the app removes it. Export a backup first if you want to keep your licenses.
